Jeff Baker

Jeff Baker is a Ph.D. candidate in MIS at the Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University.  He is a recipient of the 2007 Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Doctoral Student, an award given  to recognize outstanding instruction in the classroom.  

Jeff is in the fifth year of his Ph.D. program and plans to pursue a career in academia.  He recently defended his dissertation, which examines the business value of information technology.  In addition to his dissertation work, he has also published research on the topics of business intelligence and e-commerce.  Before embarking on his Ph.D., he earned an MBA from Texas Tech and a BS from the University of Texas at Austin.

Professionally, Jeff has worked on information technology projects and holds the  CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification in project management from the Project Management Institute.

Away from school, Jeff enjoys active pursuits such as hiking, rock climbing, and mountain biking. Jeff enjoys traveling and hopes to live and work internationally at some point.
