WELCOME TO MY WORLD
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Marketing at Texas Tech University. I finished my undergraduate in the Mathematics Department of Bogazici University, and then, completed my MBA degree at Yildiz Tech University in Turkey. During my MBA, I worked at the BBDO advertising agency as a database admin and statistical consultant; and Bilgi University Advertising Department as a teaching assistant. All my experiences during those years just tell me that I gave the most right decision for my life: being a part of marketing educators community.
I am currently working on the second part of my dissertation (data collection). In my dissertation, I am investigating why some of innovation alliances are more successful than others. I am using theories of competition to explain/understand/predict this marketing phenomenon. It was just a question two years ago; but, it is my main research interest now. I am excited and enthusiastic about it.
I love teaching. I always think that teaching and research should be in tandem. Sharing your passions with students is very delightful; it gives you more motivation to conduct scientific studies and share them with your students. I find myself lucky; because I know for sure that I want to be a teacher who hopes to foster critical thinking, facilitate the acquisition of life-long learning skills, and develop problem solving strategies.
